The Posidonia Forum is an event in which the projects and presentations that qualify for the title Save Posidonia are exposed, an international recognition of the implementation of sustainable models in Mediterranean communities and, very particularly, in Formentera.
This writing may seem like the typical official thing without a soul. But it is exactly the opposite: a group of people who apply all their talent to develop “recipes” that allow us to live and enjoy our natural environment in a much more intelligent way. In addition, the name of the project is precious, the conservation of the Posidonia is the key to the natural beauty of the waters of Formentera. A small plant can change everything.
Many topics were discussed, some of which are rabidly current, such as sustainable tourism and others that, unfortunately, do not go out of style, such as the degradation of the seabed.
The son of the legendary commander Jacques Cousteau showed us some images filmed by his father in 1946 and others of 1976 and the devastation is impressive.
When you visually illustrate papers by several different people, in general, you have to couple very different points of view about the same reality. In this case, they were practically all coincident: the need to involve all the actors (politicians, public organizations, tourism entrepreneurs, tourists, fishermen…) in the conservation of the Posidonia grasslands. That is everyone’s task..
